Hi guys!
Sorry I haven't been around as much as I'd like, things have been really hectic here, as usual.
I went with Amber the other day to get her registered at Atherton again. Hard to believe she's already a sophomore, huh? I also bought her a new book bag and some supplies when she told me her old one had a rip in it. Lee and I had already made sure she had enough jeans, shoes and shirts to start out the school year. Next we're going to need to see what we can do about braces and getting her eyes checked. I'm pretty sure she needs glasses and Suzie just keeps putting it off.
Heck, she hasn't been keeping up with most of what Amber needs lately. Or any of her other responsibilities, either. She's too busy planning her wedding to Ricky. You know how she said she'd pay the remainder of what was owed on the utilities when they moved out of the house? Well, I got a letter for mom that LG&E was turning her over to collections for what's still owed on the gas and lights. I'll bet that means she hasn't paid the water bill, either. I'll probably just go ahead and deal with them when Lee gets paid on the 29th. I can already see that, no matter what she says, she's not going to pay them. I know better than to count on her for anything. Grrrrr
Mom's doing well and still enjoys going to day care, thank goodness. Lee's also okay, health-wise. He's been exercising and has lost almost 38 pounds. Having that as a stress relief has really come in handy lately, work has been a bit of a bitch for him. They've been dealing with a massive denial of service attack on the main web server the last few days. With classes getting ready to start back up it couldn't have come at a worse time. He's had a lot of late, sleepless nights trying to deal with it. The good thing is that it's shown them weakness' they need to shore up in the system. Unfortunately, that's been a bad thing, too.
Also, much as I hate to do it, looks like we're going to have to try and sell mom's wormy chestnut pieces; two bookcases and a Fireplace bench. We're looking at $6500.00 as the low estimate so far to get our house painted. With all of the expenses we've faced with mom, and various illnesses from all three of us the last few years, we have no savings to speak of. Our credit is also pretty much toast so we'll have to sell things in order to raise the money. I'm going to be looking at what's left of our movie poster collection, books, art pieces and my remaining comics to see what we can sell. We really don't have a choice. We can't put it off any longer without possibly doing damage to the house where it's peeling so badly. We postponed it last year but we just can't ignore it any longer.
Anyway, enough of my griping, things are actually going okay. We have each other and we're getting by and that's what's really important. The other is just something I have to figure out a way through, like always. Guess I'll just have to win that lottery I keep forgetting to buy tickets for, huh? ;)
So, how's your morning going?
*hugs*
